The ACTINET network (supported by the European Commission) will be sponsoring a number of initiatives in actinides science in the next few years, including yearly summer school, which will be held alternatively in CEA (Marcoule) and ITU (Karlsruhe).
The topic of the "ACTINET Summer School 2004" is "Thermodynamics and kinetics of liquid-liquid extraction".
The school is organized in:
a series of lessons on actinides in solution, thermodynamics of liquid-liquid extraction, kinetics of liquid-liquid extraction, analytical chemistry and overview of extracting processes,
conferences on related topics, demonstration experiments in the Atalante facility.
The "ACTINET Summer School 2004" is organized in Marcoule (CEA Valrh˘ research center) and Avignon (France), just before the "ATALANTE 2004, Advances for future nuclear fuel cycles" conference, 21-24 June.
The "ACTINET Summer School 2004" will be held from Thursday 17 june morning, until Saturday 19 June after lunch.
There is no registration fee.
Admission to the shool includes a booklet of abstracts, a CD-Rom with the slides of the presentations, coffee breaks, food and lodging from 16 June night to 19 June after lunch.
Registration and administrative information
The number of attendees will be limited to about 30 participants. Priority will be given to students and young researchers from member organisations of ACTINET, or European organisations.
Registration will be open until 25 April 2004. The final acceptance of your registration will be notified before 7 May 2004.
